Richard F. Seamans, CFA, MBA

Founder and Managing Director

Richard F. Seamans

Mr. Seamans serves as the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Seamans Holdings, which he founded as Seamans Capital Management in 1986. The Firm began as a strategic advisor to companies and institutions on interest rates, currencies and commodity prices. The Firm achieved outstanding investment results on its mining and conventional energy investments from 2002 to 2011. Convictions about the cost advantages and environmental benefits of renewable technologies led Mr. Seamans to begin investing in essential services and related technologies in 2013. Beginning in 2018, the firm began investing in private companies focused on more efficient and effective solutions for water, agriculture, clean transportation, health care and other basic needs for the benefit of the world.

He was previously a Managing Director and Senior Group Vice President for Scudder, Stevens & Clark, Ltd. in Boston, Massachusetts, now part of Deutsche Bank, where he directed tax-exempt bond research, policy and investments totaling $3.9 billion.

Mr. Seamans is a member of the Board of Overseers for the Handel and Haydn Society in Boston, MA. He is a past trustee and member of the Investment Committee of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. He received his BA from Duke University in North Carolina, and his MBA, with distinction, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a CFA® charter holder.

Eleanor Mulvaney Seamans, MS

Mrs. Seamans is the Chief Executive Officer of Seamans Holdings. She joined as the Chief Operating Officer in 1993. She is responsible for the firm’s strategic growth and organizational structure as well as oversight for the functions of the firm’s daily operations. Designed around the core principles of continuous learning, collaborative leadership and strong working relationships, Seamans Holdings is positioned to operate effectively in a dynamic global environment. Previously she founded the Glastonbury Company, a Waltham, MA based consulting firm specializing in personal and corporate transformational learning. Mrs. Seamans has more than 20 years of experience as an organizational consultant in financial services, working primarily with senior corporate leaders and entrepreneurs to translate vision into organizational effectiveness and profitable performance.

As an emeritus member of the Board of Directors of the Public Sector Consortium in Cambridge, MA and the Board of Trustees at Emmanuel College, Boston, MA, where she founded the Mulvaney Leadership Institute, she continues to value education as the foundation of social stability and environmental vitality. She is a consulting member of the Society for Organizational Learning (SoL) and a member of the Tiffany Circle of the American Red Cross.

Mrs. Seamans received her BA from Emmanuel College and her MS from Simmons College in Boston, from which she graduated summa cum laude.

Nathalie Brochu, MBA, MA, FSA, SCR

Nathalie Brochu

Following a successful 20-year career on Wall Street, Ms. Brochu, a Canadian national with deep outdoor interests, moved to Denver for her love of the mountains. She is committed to protecting the environment. Nathalie is a Sustainability Strategist with a focus on climate, inspiring leaders to create positive impact.

Ms. Brochu started her career on Wall Street at Merrill Lynch in equity research. She successfully transitioned to the hedge fund world where she managed equity and high yield debt portfolios at Exis Capital, K Squared Capital and First New York. In Denver, she has been a strategic financial advisor to startups, as VP of Finance at BridgeSat, an optical communications startup, and VP of Capital Markets at P2Bi, a fintech startup, contributing to financial strategy and fundraising efforts to rapidly growing companies.

Community engagement is critical to Nathalie’s mission. She serves on the Board of the Butterfly Pavilion, the world’s only AZA-accredited invertebrate zoo. The organization runs numerous habitat restoration, land conservation and pollinator programs globally. As an avid cyclist, Nathalie is also on the Board of Team Evergreen Cycling, the largest cycling club in Colorado that as a non-profit, has donated nearly $3 million to local charitable and advocacy organizations. Ms. Brochu was previously on the Board of Financial Executives International and the Associate Board of City Year Denver. She also mentors at local startup accelerators Rockies Venture Club and Techstars.

Ms. Brochu holds the FSA Credentials from the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Sustainability and Climate Risk Certificate from GARP. She also completed the Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) courses on climate disclosures and climate governance. She has an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University at Buffalo School of Management and a Masters in Economics from the University at Buffalo. As a wine enthusiast, she earned an Advanced Certificate in Wine & Spirits from the prestigious WSET London school.

Because wilderness calls, you will often find her playing in the mountains, skiing or riding her bike.

Dr. Qing (Sunny) Huang, CFA, FRM, MBA, PhD

Portfolio Manager

Dr. Qing (Sunny) Huang

Dr. Huang is a Portfolio Manager with responsibilities including asset allocation and stock research. Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Dr. Huang was a Research Scientist in the Institute of Chemical Biology & Drug Discovery, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has authored and co-authored six papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Huang received her MBA from Boston College Carroll Graduate School of Management, a PhD in Chemistry from SUNY at Stony Brook, and a BS in Chemistry from Nanjing University in China. She is fluent in Mandarin, certified as a Financial Risk Manager and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
